About Us
Behavioral and emotional problems are common in children and young people with disabilities more than in the general population. The impact of the child’s disability on the emotional and mental well-being of the child’s parents and siblings could be enormous.
Psychologists will confidentially work with you and your child to help you cope better as a family and enable your child to live a full and active life.
We work to help the child integrate into family and community situations as well as work on strategies to cope with challenging behaviors.
Children and families are the center of everything we do and our psychologists and the family are partners, working together to best meet the needs of the child. Children and families are served best when we work closely with other professionals working with the child.
We also understand that the parents’ cultural beliefs should be respected and taken in consideration in assessment and intervention with the family.
Our Services
We provide psychological assessments and interventions to inpatients, and outpatients
Assessment
The psychologist will carry a clinical assessment to investigate the situation of the child and their family. Assessments involve different approaches including interviews with parents and sometimes other people who are closely involved. Psychologists also carry out observations and may use questionnaires and assessment tests
